Sickle cell disease remains a neglected, intensely painful hereditary blood cell disorder, with limited curative treatments available. Millions of people worldwide suffer from this condition. The exhibition 'You Can Never Feel My Pain,' hosted at the contemporary art museum OSCAM in Amsterdam Southeast, focuses on this disease, current treatment options and unexpected new developments in curative therapies.
Members of TRACER Sjaak Philipsen, Eva-Maria Merz and Lou van Hooff will contribute to this exhibition. Through artistic dialogue, the exhibition engages the public with the challenges of sickle cell disease and the issues surrounding current and potential future treatments. This approach facilitates an accessible scientific discussion while simultaneously exploring its societal impact.
